Continuity, resilience & recovery

Everything fails eventually. These certifications are about what happens next — how fast you detect it, how you keep the critical things running, and how you get back to normal without improvising.

Standards in this family

Resilience is a discipline, not a document

Most organizations have a business continuity plan. Far fewer have tested it, and fewer still have one that reflects how the business actually runs today rather than how it ran when the plan was written.

Business continuity

Management-system certification for continuity planning and operation.

Disaster recovery

Technical recovery planning, testing and execution.

Operational resilience

Enterprise-wide resilience and the regulatory frameworks driving it.

Choosing a path

Plans fail at the handoffs

Continuity rarely breaks because the document was wrong. It breaks because the person who owned it left, the dependency map was two years stale, or nobody had ever actually run the restore. These courses cover the mechanics as well as the management system.

  • Management-system groundingISO 22301 gives you a structure regulators and clients already recognize
  • Recovery that's been rehearsedDisaster recovery credentials focused on tested restores, not documented intentions
  • Regulatory pressureDORA and operational resilience expectations reshaping financial services obligations
  • Whole-team capabilityContinuity fails at handoffs, so we run group cohorts across the roles involved
How the levels work

Foundation to Lead — pick the one that matches the job

Not every standard offers every level, but where they exist the ladder is consistent. Choose by the work you'll do, not by which title sounds most senior.

Level 1 Foundation The vocabulary and structure of the standard. Two days. The right entry point if the subject is new to you.
Level 2 Manager Running an existing system day to day — operating controls, maintaining evidence, handling reviews.
Level 3 Lead Implementer Designing and building the management system from scratch, including scope, risk treatment and rollout.
Level 3 Lead Auditor Assessing someone else's system against the standard — internally, as a consultant, or for a certification body.
Delivery formats

Three ways to take any course

Same accreditation, same exam, same certificate. The difference is how much structure and instructor access you want along the way.

Self-study

Course materials and exam voucher, worked at your own pace. The lowest-cost route, and a reasonable one if you already work in the subject.

Common questions

Before you enrol

No. The standard scales — a thirty-person firm implementing it properly ends up with a shorter, sharper set of procedures than a bank does. What doesn't scale down is the discipline: you still need a business impact analysis, defined recovery objectives, and evidence you've tested them.

The certification isn't the point; the method is. Most existing DR plans we see cover infrastructure restore and skip the business side entirely — no recovery time objectives agreed with the people who own the processes, no communication plan, no exercise history. Lead Disaster Recovery Manager fills those gaps.

DORA binds EU financial entities and, importantly, their critical ICT third-party providers — which catches a lot of firms who don't consider themselves regulated. If you supply software or services into EU financial services, it's worth checking. The DORA Lead Manager course is on request; contact us for the current schedule.

Business continuity asks how you recover from a disruption. Operational resilience asks whether your important business services can survive one in the first place, mapped end to end including third parties. They overlap heavily, and the Lead Operational Resilience Manager course assumes some continuity grounding.

Test the plan before something else does

Tell us where your continuity programme stands — plan on paper, plan under test, or nothing yet — and we'll suggest the credential that closes the biggest gap first.
